TAG-Confucius Organizes 2nd Winter Camp for Children
AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) organized second winter camp for students from various schools in Jordan.
The camp introduced students to the wonderful world of Chinese language and culture, and were briefed on China’s history, geography and traditions.
Participants enjoyed educational videos and lectures that gave a detailed depiction of life in China delivered by Director Yang Songfang.
Students learned the basic use of Chinese words and simple greeting phrases and numbers that they can use on a daily basis.
In addition, students were eager to learn and know more about paper-cutting and paper-folding, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese movies, chopsticks use, Chinese painting, tea ceremony, traditional Chinese games like shuttlecock, jumping rope, tangram puzzle, balloon, taiji, traditional Chinese costumes, Chinese songs and music, Chinese New Year performance, Chinese stories, Peking Opera, Chinese zodiac, Chinese poems, Chinese dance, delicious Chinese food like jiaozi (dumplings), Chinese noodles, Chinese pancake.
Ms. Yang Songfang said that students made great achievements in the winter camp and had a better understanding of China and Chinese culture hoping that they would keep the enthusiasm for learning Chinese language and culture and welcomed them back to TAG-Confucius Institute to continue their study.
Parents were also invited to join the camp and learn more about Chinese culture and traditions.
The winter camp was organized during the winter holidays of Jordanian schools and aimed at giving children a simplified overview regarding Chinese language and culture to stimulate their interest in Chinese language and culture so that they can become the ambassadors of cultural exchange between China and Jordan.
