China Visit Program
Summer/winter camp to China
Description: Confucius Institute Summer/winter camp is an annual Chinese language and culture experiencing program sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban in China with the cooperation of Confucius Institutes. This program aims at enhancing Sino-foreign youth exchanges, deepening students’ understanding of and personal experience with Chinese language and culture, and stimulating their passion for learning Chinese.
Contents: This exciting trip to China offers the CI students a unique opportunity to experience China. Participants will have intensive but fun language study as well as a wide range of cultural experiences such as Chinese martial arts, calligraphy, water and ink painting, tea ceremony, paper-cutting and Chinese delicious food, etc. Campers will also visit cultural landmarks, historical sites, etc. in 2 cities.
Duration: 2 weeks
Age Limit: 15-30 years old
Limit of the number of participants: 15-20 students and 1 leader
Application and Selection: Applicants should fill in and submit the application form to Confucius Institute. The Confucius Institute will administer the preliminary selection according to the submitted documents, confirm qualified candidates, and submit candidates’ information to Hanban for review. Hanban will notify the Confucius Institute of the selection results.
Fees: Students pay for their own round-trip international air-tickets, visa and international medical insurance. The expenses in China such as education, accommodation, meals, transportation and group activities will be covered by CI Headquarters/Hanban.
6.2 Educators Delegation to China
“Educators delegation to China” is one of the China Visit Programs launched by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban in China. The details about this program are as follows:
Participants: the in–service presidents of foreign universities and principals of primary and secondary schools playing significant roles in promoting local Chinese education.
Purpose: The educators are invited to visit China to gain knowledge about its language, culture, educational and social conditions, and they can establish and develop Chinese language and cultural course at home.
Number of participants: To ensure that the visit achieves good effects, a delegation should be made up of not more than 10 members and 1 group leader.
Activities: They will visit 2 cities in a period of 14 days, engaging in informal discussion with Chinese educators and taking part in cultural investigations.
Expenses: The delegates only cover their own round-trip airtickets, visa and insurance. The expenses of group members in China such as accommodation, meals, education and transportation will be covered by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban and the partner university of Confucius Institute.
