About Us
Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures. This is a one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global) and the Confucius Institute Headquarters /Hanban in China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history.
TAG-CI is the first official Chinese language teaching center in Jordan where Chinese lessons are conducted by professional teachers from the Shenyang Normal University in Shenyang.
The instructors are highly experienced in teaching Chinese for foreigners and are recommended by Confucius Institute Headquarters in China.
TAG-CI is also the first official testing center for China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
The test was launched by Hanban in an effort to better serve Chinese language learners.
The test is a result of coordinated efforts by the experts from different disciplines including Chinese language teaching, linguistics, psychology and educational measurement.
