Chinese Director of TAG-Confucius Institute Visits Marshall International Schools

On November 9, Dr. Yang Songfang, Chinese Director of TAG-Confucius Institute (TAG-CI), together with Mr. Zhao Xiaoqiang, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Jordan and Director of the China Cultural Center in Amman, paid an official visit to Marshall International Schools. They were warmly received by Mr. Samer Shatat and Mr. Muhannad, the school’s owners and board members, Principal Mr. Salah, as well as the teachers and students.
The students were lining up at the school gate to greet the guests. The girls dressed in qipao and holding Chinese fans, and the boys in Kungfu outfits, greeted the guests in Chinese such as “Hello, welcome to Marshall School.”, “Nice to meet you!”, and “Wish you a pleasant visit!”, etc. The campus was adorned with handmade lanterns, Chinese paintings, and calligraphy works created by the students, creating a rich Chinese cultural atmosphere.
During the subsequent meeting, the school leadership extended a warm welcome to the guests. Principal Salah briefly introduced the school’s development and stated that with China’s rapid development in economy and technology, the Chinese language has become one of the world’s most important languages. As part of the school’s Cultural Exchange and Language Development Plan, Marshall International Schools aims to introduce Chinese as its fifth language to be taught, enriching the students’ global learning experience.
Mr. Zhao Xiaoqiang expressed his gratitude for the school’s thoughtful arrangements and warm reception, and highly commended the students’ enthusiasm and vitality. He noted that he looks forward to establishing a long-term partnership with Marshall International Schools, and the Chinese Embassy in Jordan will actively support the school in launching Chinese language courses and jointly promote the development of Chinese education in Jordan. He stated that TAG-CI will coordinate with the school to discuss concrete cooperation plans.

Dr. Yang Songfang introduced TAG-CI, focusing on its teaching staff, Chinese language courses, cultural programs, HSK test, summer camp to China, and educators’ delegation to China. She expressed her hope to collaborate with Marshall International Schools to provide students with opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese language and culture.
Through discussion, both sides agreed to conduct a Chinese Culture Festival in December at Marshall International Schools. TAG-CI and the China Cultural Center in Amman will jointly organize a variety of cultural activities to offer students colorful Chinese cultural experience.
After that, Dr. Yang and Mr. Zhao also attended presentations by senior students and teachers on school’s programs in the auditorium and presented awards to the winners of the Chinese Painting Contest.
This visit reflects the school’s shared commitment to cultural diversity and nurturing students into true global citizens. It also lays a solid foundation for future cooperation between Marshall International Schools and TAG-CI, further advancing Chinese language education in Jordan and deepening educational and cultural exchanges between China and Jordan.
