Abu-Ghazaleh Highlights Distinctive Performance of PDF Task Forces

AMMAN ---- March 14, 2013----- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of the Policy Development Forum (PDF) commended the efforts of the Forum's Task Forces which are dedicated to serve the national economy at the general meeting held at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum.

 

He also praised those members who submitted, according to regulations, tax clearance statements calling upon the remaining members to expedite the submission of such statements. 1
To set an example for all institutions and bodies pursuant to the principles of good governance and transparency, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said “I have started the process with myself and posted my own tax clearance statement on our Forum’s website”.
The meeting addressed the tasks of the working task forces; during which the Coordinator of the Jordanian Economic Charter’s Observatory Committee, Dr. Yaseen Al-Khayyat said that “most of the 23 working teams meet regularly and are committed to the work schedule”.
‘Some of these teams have made considerable progress in the preparation of a draft report on their work,” he added, assuring that this indicator is very positive and demonstrates the commitment of the team members with the timed goals and message of the Forum.
Dr. Al-Khayyat pointed out that teams’ leaders have full authority and flexibility to invite members or non-members specialists to participate with their efforts and opinions which helped reach the expeditious results.
“The Supporting Administrative Team has played a positive role in easing the work of other teams as it provided them with all with the necessary administrative and technical support,” he added.
He pointed out that the he drafted, through an ad hoc committee, the requirements for report writing for all teams in addition to standardized themes governing the work of such teams, stressing that the contents that should be incorporated in the document on Jordan Economic Charter have already been prepared.
On a separate note, the Jordanian, Canadian and American mutual bilateral agreements were assigned to a working team under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Mohammad Al-Halaiqah that is mandated to reevaluate those agreements and spot their pros, cons, impacts and feasibility.
The meeting also discussed the annual report that will detail the PDF’s activities and achievements for the reporting period 2012. A special team is finalizing the report that is to be published through all media outlets including the Forum’s website.
