TAG Confucius Offers Introductory Chinese Language Course at Bishop School Students
TAG Confucius professors delivered several lectures to students introducing them to the world of Chinese language, culture and traditions
AMMAN-----April 9, 2012--------Upon an invitation by Ms. Mervat Wahhab, the headmistress of the Elementary Section at the Bishop School in Jordan, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG- Confucius), the official testing center for China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi/the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) visited the School to introduce the Chinese language.
TAG Confucius professors delivered several lectures to students introducing them to the world of Chinese language, culture and traditions. Mr. Chengyu ZHANG, TAG- Confucius Dean said:" Bishop School realizes the importance of the Chinese language for their students' future and are keen to teach them the language at a young age and we are here to provide all the support needed." A class will start in April at the School for one month as an introductory class for the students, the class will be provided by TAG-Confucius professional teachers.
TAG Confucius and the Bishop School will soon sign an agreement to teach Chinese language at the school and would include other sister schools as well in the future. About TAG- Confucius Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.
This is one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute in China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius' thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
