TAG-Confucius Institute Hold Chinese Language and Culture Lectures at Al Hussein Technical University 

On Jan. 23rd 2023, TAG-Confucius Institute held two Lectures on Chinese language and culture at Al Hussein Technical University attended by Dr. William Naugle, Director of the Office of International Relations, Mr. Mamoun Abu Al Sebaa` Executive of TAGCI, Dr. Yang Songfang Chinese Director of TAGCI and Ms. Randa Al Yabroudi Deputy Director of TAGCI,     The students and teachers from both side.

Dr. Yang Songfang, Chinese Director of TAG Confucius Institute, gave a brief introduction to TAG Organization and TAG-Confucius Institute and talked about the importance of learning Chinese language which is most widely-spoken language in the world. One-fifth of the planet speaks Chinese. Also with the development of globalization, the demand for Chinese learning in various countries continues to be strong. More than 180 countries and regions around the world carry out Chinese teaching, 81 countries incorporate Chinese into the national education system, more than 80000 schools and training institutions offer Chinese courses, and more than 30 million people are learning Chinese.
As she mentioned also about Chinese economy that has been witnessing a rapid growth in the world, making China widely regarded as potentially the biggest global market in the 21st century—more opportunities in economy, business, trade and education, etc.
More people around the world are fascinated by China’s rapid technological development and economic growth, thus getting to realize the potential benefits they can reap by learning Chinese language and culture.

Dr. Yang talked about the Chinese Civilization that China is one of the world’s oldest and richest continuous civilizations, over 5000 years. Its splendid traditions in literature, arts, traditional Chinese medicine and cuisine make learning Chinese an exploration and discovery.
Dr. Yang Added about the Chinese Language Projects:

1.     Chinese Courses for Adults and Kids: threshold, basic, intermediate and advanced levels,
2.    . Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK Test).
3.     “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students.

After that Yang Songfang presented many beautiful pictures on Chinese language teaching and cultural events held by TAG-Confucius Institute through PowerPoint. 
 
The Second Lecture was held by Ms. Shen Guannan, TAGCI Teacher, she gave a brief about the basics of the Chinese language and its levels in very professional and interesting way.

At the end a student from the HTU her name is Rayan Dayah talked about her experience of learning Chinese at TAG-Confucius and the important of learning this language in the current time.
