Notable Waterfalls

Huangguoshu Waterfall – Located in Guizhou Province, Huangguoshu is the largest waterfall in China and one of the tallest in the world, standing at 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide. The surrounding Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park features 18 waterfalls, scenic mountains, and attractions like the Water-Curtain Cave, where visitors can walk behind the cascade for a unique perspective. 
The best visiting period is from June to October, with 3–4 hours recommended to explore the main areas.
  
Hukou Waterfall – Straddling Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces, Hukou is the only yellow-colored waterfall in the world, formed by the Yellow River narrowing from 300 meters to 50 meters before plunging into a 30-meter-deep basin. Its dramatic seasonal changes and powerful flow make it a striking natural spectacle.

Changbai Waterfall – Situated in Jilin Province, this waterfall is the exit point of Tianchi (Heavenly Lake) and is the highest volcanic waterfall in the world at 68 meters. Visitors can view it via an easier western route or a more challenging climb for panoramic views.

Jiulong (Nine Dragons) Waterfalls – Located in Luoping, Yunnan, this multi-tiered waterfall group spans 4 km with ten cascades. The largest, Shenlong Waterfall, is 56 meters tall and 114 meters wide, featuring a hidden cave behind the water curtain. The area is surrounded by vibrant seasonal flowers, making it ideal for photography and romantic exploration.

Zangbu Badong Waterfalls – Deep in the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon in Tibet, this remote waterfall group includes Bailang Waterfall, which drops nearly 100 meters. Known for its immense power and misty canyon environment, it is accessible only through licensed scientific or expedition groups, offering a rare and pristine experience.
