On September 25, the Chinese Embassy in Jordan hosted a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event brought together over 600 guests, including Mr. Gong Anmin, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Founder and Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), Mr. Luay Abu-Ghazaleh, Vice-Chairman of TAG.Global and President of the Board of TAG-Confucius Institute (TAG-CI), Mr. Mamoun Abu Al-Sebaa, Jordanian Director of TAG-CI, Dr. Yang Songfang, Chinese Director of TAG-CI, Ms. Randa Al-Yabroudi, Deputy Director of TAG-CI, and the teachers of TAG-CI. Also in attendance were Jordan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nancy Namrouqa, former Prime Minister Awn Al-Khasawneh, senior representatives from the Jordanian government, parliament and military, members of the diplomatic corps in Jordan, representatives of Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese, as well as teachers and students, etc.
In his speech, Mr. Gong Anmin reviewed China’s remarkable achievements over the past 76 years since its founding, highlighting the resilience of its economy, continuous breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation, and the steady advancement of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. He emphasized that China solemnly commemorates the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and remains committed to its path of peaceful development, firmly upholds the international system with the United Nations at its core, and actively promotes the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Mr. Gong underscored that China firmly opposes unilateralism and acts of bullying, reiterating its consistent support for the just cause of the Palestinian people. He also spoke highly of Jordan’s significant role in promoting regional stability and expressed China’s willingness to work together with Jordan to advance peace in the Middle East. He further noted that 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Jordan strategic partnership, with bilateral cooperation deepening across trade, education, science, technology, and culture. In closing, he extended festive greetings to the Chinese community in Jordan and expressed his heartfelt wishes for the prosperity of both countries and the enduring friendship between China and Jordan.
Guests extended their warm congratulations on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, engaging in cordial exchanges and friendly conversations. Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh and Mr. Luay Abu-Ghazaleh spoke highly of China’s extraordinary achievements in economic and social development, as well as the fruitful outcomes of China-Jordan cooperation in various fields. Directors and faculty members of TAG-CI interacted warmly with embassy diplomats and guests, sincerely wishing both countries continued prosperity and everlasting friendship.
The reception unfolded in a warm and festive atmosphere. Guests enjoyed cultural performances including a puppet show, a traditional Chinese music ensemble performance of “Jasmine Flower”, and a duet “I Am Willing to Give You Everything, Jordan” performed by Chinese and Jordanian artists. The celebration reached its emotional peak with the moving song of “My Motherland and I”, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
Furthermore, the guests visited a photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. They also received books on China’s governance philosophy and development experience, which offered them deeper insights into China’s development path and governance concepts.
