Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Presents Honorary Shield to Chinese Director of TAG-Confucius Institute

On October 13, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Founder and Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), presented an honorary shield to Dr. Yang Songfang, Chinese Director of TAG-Confucius Institute (TAG-CI), in recognition of her ten years of dedicated service and invaluable contributions to the Institute.

Since her appointment to TAG-CI in March 2015, Dr. Yang has devoted herself to the mission of the Confucius Institute. Over the past decade, she has worked tirelessly to promote Chinese language education in Jordan, leading her team to innovate teaching methods, enrich cultural programs, advance academic research, and strengthen community engagement. 

Through these collective efforts, an increasing number of Jordanians have developed a keen interest in learning Chinese and gaining a deeper understanding of China. Dr. Yang’s remarkable achievements have significantly contributed to China–Jordan cultural exchange and mutual understanding, earning her wide recognition and respect within the local community.

The honorary shield not only acknowledges Dr. Yang’s decade-long dedication and perseverance, but also honors her outstanding accomplishments. It stands as a symbol of the fruitful outcomes of China–Jordan cooperation and a testament to the commitment of Confucius Institute educators. Moreover, it highlights TAG-CI’s pivotal role in fostering the friendship between China and Jordan and promoting mutual learning among civilizations.

 This honor will continue to inspire the Institute’s faculty and staff to forge ahead and open new chapters in the enduring story of China–Jordan friendship.
