Confucius Institute Successfully Concludes 2025 Summer Camp to China

From July 1st to 14th, TAG-Confucius Institute successfully organized a summer camp to China. During the two-week program, 14 outstanding Jordanian students immersed themselves in the unique charm of Chinese language and culture, creating unforgettable youthful memories across Liaoning Province.
The summer camp was sponsored by Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China with Shenyang Normal University as the reception university which is the Chinese partner institution of TAG-Confucius Institute. The program featured an integrated approach encompassing three dimensions: language learning, cultural immersion and city exploration, leading the students to visit two captivating cities of Shenyang and Dalian.
During their stay in Shenyang, the students not only acquired practical communication skills through immersive Chinese language courses, but also experienced the intricacies of traditional Chinese arts through cultural workshops including tea ceremony, paper-cutting, Hanfu costumes, martial arts, pottery-making, and Peking Opera. Beyond the classroom, the students visited Shenyang Imperial Palace and Liaoning Paleontological Museum, while also trying their hand at rowing on the Hunhe River, blending history, science and sports into memorable cross-cultural encounters. During free time, the students independently explored urban landmarks like Zhaoling Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Qipanshan Mountain Nature Resort, gaining multidimensional China experiences.

In the romantic city of Dalian, the students were captivated by the coastal charm of azure seas and skies. From the urban vibrancy of Xinghai Square to the exotic allure of Russian Street, from the panoramic grandeur of Lotus Hill Observation Deck to the lingering historical echoes of Dongguan Street, this port city embodies a harmonious blend of diverse cultures. When sailing on the sea, the students marveled at the ecological spectacle of seagulls flocking alongside the boat—a perfect harmonious integration of humans and nature.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Yang Songfang, Chinese Director of TAG-Confucius Institute, addressed the students with heartfelt words: “This summer camp has not only enriched your knowledge but also deepened friendships. May your passion for Chinese learning continue to grow. We hope to see you return to China through scholarship programs in the future, becoming ambassadors promoting cultural exchanges between China and Jordan.”
Ms. Hu Bo, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation at Shenyang Normal University, commended: “The Jordanian summer camp delegation ranks among the most outstanding international groups we have received. It is because of the students like you who cherish Chinese language and culture that our international Chinese language education mission carries such profound meaning. Shenyang Normal University looks forward to meeting you all in the near future.”
The students expressed sincere gratitude to Shenyang Normal University and the program teachers for the warm hospitality, thoughtful arrangements and considerate care.

They shared how the journey had allowed them to discover not only Shenyang’s historical depth and Dalian’s coastal charm but also witness firsthand China’s economic dynamism and cultural inclusiveness. They stated “China is even more vibrant than we imagined!” Moved by this unforgettable experience, some students said that they will make more efforts to learn Chinese and apply for scholarships to study in China in the future.
This summer camp successfully built a heart-to-heart bridge between Chinese and Jordanian youth through “perceptible language learning” and “tangible cultural experiences”. The students not only enhanced Chinese proficiency but also gained a profound understanding of contemporary China’s development, which will undoubtedly inject enduring momentum into bilateral educational cooperation, opening a new chapter in China-Jordan people-to-people exchanges.
