LONDON-----June 19, 2013------ Rt Hon David Willetts MP UK Minister for Universities and Science received HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and the accompanying delegation and discussed the future of education in general and E-learning in specific in addition to the opportunities British universities have in the educational revolution in the era which the Arab region is witnessing to cope with the challenges of information technology.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, president of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University (TAGIUNI), the cloud-based gateway to the worlds best education gave a summary on the work of TAGIUNI especially in providing students around the world with the learning opportunities in the best universities in the world through TAGIUNIs portal which connects students with high level and international accredited universities.
Discussions focused on organizing a regional Arab British summit on E-learning and on those who are willing to study in the British universities which have online programs.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh discussed with the Minister the report which was accomplished by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and UNESCO about the use of information and communication technologies in education, which will be launched soon to motivate all to benefit from the opportunities provided by such technologies to develop and boost education. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that he will be providing a copy of this report to Mr. Willetts before its launch.
Its worth mentioning that TAGIUNI has signed cooperation agreements with a number of British universities to attract students on a world level to e-learning and discussions are under process to include all e-learning programs on equal terms with the US universities and others internationally accredited.
TAGI-UNI will start its first semester September 2013 and so far thousands joined from around the world.
