AMMAN- The 8th meeting of the Board of Directors of Talal Abu –Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-CI) was held recently headed by Mr. Luay Abu-Ghazaleh, Vice Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org)  and President of the Board of Directors of TAG-Confucius Institute.

The meeting was also attended by Vice President of Shenyang Normal University Mr. Li Tiejun, Chinese Director of TAG-Confucius Institute Ms. Yang Songfang, in addition to officials from TAG-Confucius Institute. 

The meeting discussed the results of the work during the 2016 and the future plans covering the Chinese language teaching, cultural events, implementation of the key programs of Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban in China, budget and various, management issues. 

Ms. Songfang tackled the development plan for  TAG-Confucius Institute in 2017, including improving Chinese language teaching, promoting cultural exchanges between China and Jordan, programs to be carried out in addition to others. The Board members showed full appreciation and support for TAG-CI’s achievements and development plan.

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Li Tiejun said that the impressive performance of TAG-Confucius Institute played a positive role in the cooperation between TAG-Org and Shenyang Normal University.

He added that the development of TAG-Confucius Institute should be combined with “The Belt and Road” developing strategy and push forward to the extensive and in-depth exchange in education and culture between China and Jordan. 

 

Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that TAG-CI will work on developing its programs in cooperation with Shenyang Normal University and achieve the goals it set for future.

After the meeting, the delegation of Shenyang Normal University was invited to visit the University of Jordan and Bishop School for Boys and had a thorough discussion on exchange program in the future.
