TAG- Confucius Participates in the 7th “Great Wall-Petra Cup” Chinese Language Competition (Final Stage)
AMMAN May 19, 2016 - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius), participated in the 7th “Great Wall-Petra Cup” Chinese Language Competition (final stage) at the University of Jordan, organized by Chinese Embassy to Jordan.
The Competition was under the patronage of His Excellency the Chinese Ambassador Pan Weifang and cultural attaché Mr. Yang Ronghao, president of the University Of Jordan Dr. Azmi Mahaftha, Head of the Asian Department at Jordan University Dr. Ahmad Alafifi, Director of TAG-Confucius Institute Mr. Araz Mahserejian, Dean of the TAG-Confucius Institute Dr. Yang Songfang and all participated institutes teachers and students.
Ten students competed together who were from four institutions, including the University of Jordan, Yarmouk University, Confucius Institute at Philadelphia University and TAG-Confucius Institute. The competition included Chinese speech, Chinese cultural knowledge questions and talents show. After fierce competition, Dana Abu Haltam from TAG-Confucius Institute got the third place. The winners were honored during the ceremony.
It is noteworthy that TAG-Confucius Institute is witnessing a growing demand for Chinese language learning in business, education and culture. The Chinese language teachers and keen organizers of the Institute are providing all the facilities that will encourage language learning.
Great Wall-Petra Cup” Chinese Language Competition is part of The "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition, which is a large-scale international contest sponsored by Hanban - China, and is well-known in the cultural and educational exchanges worldwide.
