TAG-Confucius Hosts 3rd Jordanian Chinese Cultural Forum
AG-Confucius Hosts 3rd Jordanian Chinese Cultural Forum Participants stressed on the importance of cultural exchange between Jordan and China to spread awareness and share expertise about the great cultures of both countries.
AMMAN-------December 16, 2012----- Under the patronage of State Minister for Media Affairs and Communications and Minister of Culture HE Mr. Samih Maaytah, the 3rd Jordanian Chinese Cultural Forum was inaugurated at the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius), the official testing center for China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
Deputizing for the Minister, HE Mr. Mamoun Talhouni, the Ministry's secretary general and Mr. Wang Baolai, cultural attach at the Chinese Embassy in addition to a host of guests and diplomats attended the event.
Participants stressed on the importance of cultural exchange between Jordan and China to spread awareness and share expertise about the great cultures of both countries with Mr. Mustafa Qarneh, head of the Jordanian Writers and Literatures Union calling for more cultural activities and events.
The event also witnessed a speech by Mr. Wang, the cultural attach at the Chinese Embassy in addition to several intellectuals and writers from both countries. At the end of the event, TAG-Confucius received an honorary shield from the Chinese delegation for the Institute's role in teaching Chinese language.
About Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.
This is a one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute of China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius's thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly two thousand years.
