TAG- Confucius Announces Winners of 'Proficiency in Chinese Language Competition'
The celebration witnessed several speeches delivered by students which reflected their fluency and knowledge in Chinese language
AMMAN-----December 20, 2011------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) honored winners of the 4th Proficiency in Chinese Language Competition which was held at the Confucius Institute main headquarters in China.
The event which was attended by Mr. Wang Pao Lee, Chinese Cultural attach in Amman, Mr. Loay Abu-Ghazaleh, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization Vice Chair and Mr. Mustafa Al Husseini, TAG- Confucius Director and a host of students and their families honored the five winners of the competition.
The celebration witnessed several speeches delivered by students which reflected their fluency and knowledge in Chinese language in addition to several songs, music instruments, calligraphy and traditional Chinese poem recital. Mr. Wang Pao Lee said:"The Chinese Embassy in Amman has nominated five students from TAG-Confucius who took part in the Great Wall and Petra Competitions.
We have presented students who have shown excellent skills in Chinese language." Meanwhile, Mr. Al Husseini said:"We are really proud of being the only institute in the Arab world that took part in the competition. We have full confidence in our students and their skills." Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.
This is one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute in China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius's thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
