To mark the 10^th anniversary of the founding of the first Confucius Institute in the world, CI Headquarters proposed that all Confucius Institutes worldwide observe a “Confucius Institute Day” on Sep. 27, 2014. This is the first “Confucius Institute Day” celebration. Following that Headquarters proposed that the fourth Saturday in September each year be “Confucius Institute Day”. All Confucius Institutes and Classrooms are encouraged to consider fully the local demand and take on an innovative approach to conduct “Confucius Institute Day” activities, to increase the quality and influence of the activities and to enhance the communication and exchange with the local community. On “Confucius Institute Day”, Headquarters open to the public and collaborate with foreign institutions in China to organize exhibitions, performances, contests and broadcasting programs.
