DUBAI-----November 26, 2012------- Eighteen employees of Dubai Municipality who successfully acquired the Arab Certified Professional Accountant (ACPA) certificate were honored today by the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) at a special ceremony held at Dubai Municipality headquarters.
The ceremony held in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, ASCA chairman, Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality who presented Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh with the Municipality's Shield and Mr. Mohammed Abdul Kareem Julfar, Dubai Municipality's Assistant Director General for Financial and Fixed Assets Affairs.
In his turn, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh presented Eng. Lootah with ASCA's Shield and a copy of the various publications by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and ASCA.
The event witnessed an exciting lecture by Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who discussed Learning in the Knowledge Age and the establishment of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University (TAGIUNI), The Peoples Gateway to the Worlds Best Education.
"We have ridden the wave of change over the decades, adapting to technological advances, reinventing ourselves along the way and building on our past and present achievements, we launched Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University our endeavor to promote world-class education as a human right and a crowning achievement of our success. We are maximizing the potential of our Organization, utilizing cloud technology, a dedicated Internet line, and our global outreach to make this dream a reality," he said.
"Our Organization has successfully done brick and mortar education: Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business in Jordan is the only FIBAA-accredited MBA in the Arab world; and we have just launched TAG University College in Bahrain," he added.
"Access to elite, world-class education, however, remains exclusive and unaffordable to the majority of students around the globe. For the first time in history we are in a position to do something about it. Access to world-class education is an inevitability whose time has come," he stated.
"We have our own cloud and we are our own Internet service provider, in other words, we became a knowledge Organization: State of the art ICT infrastructure, E-solutions, and skilled professionals in all sectors," he said.
HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh concluded: "I see world-class education as a human right and I want to put the power of choice and contribution into the hands of students. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University makes it possible for transformational societies to embrace new concepts from the ground up. We promote affordable, elite education for all, not simply education for all.
On the other hand, ASCA will hold its Annual Meeting under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh to discuss several key issues including opening new branches.
