TAG-Confucius Institute Participates in 2024 National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Reception

On September 12, TAG-Confucius Institute (TAG-CI) participated in the 2024 National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival Reception for Overseas Chinese held by the Chinese Embassy in Jordan and performed programs. Chinese Ambassador to Jordan HE Mr. Chen Chuandong, Chinese Director of TAG-CI Dr. Yang Songfang and the teachers attended the reception. More than 260 people including the Chinese people in Jordan, teachers, students and employees from Chinese enterprises gathered together to celebrate the festival.
In his speech, Ambassador Chen Chuandong extended festive greetings and best wishes to all compatriots in Jordan. He reviewed the great achievements of China in various fields since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 75 years ago, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He underlined that China has made a series of major plans to further comprehensively deepen reform, and formulated strategic measures to comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization, which is encouraging and inspiring. Chen hoped that the Chinese compatriots will give full play to the role of important link in the development of China-Jordan relations and contribute to promoting friendly cooperation between China and Jordan.
Then came the performances. TAG-CI teacher Zang Xiaonan and the Chinese student Liu Xu sang “The Story of Time” together, and the familiar melody brought back beautiful memories of youth.

The performances ended with the popular song “As You Wish” sung by Chinese Director and teachers of TAG-CI with local Chinese friends, expressing gratitude and respect for parents’ generation for their hard work and dedication. 
After the performances, all the people enjoyed delicious Chinese food and moon cakes. The reception was filled with a festive and joyful atmosphere, and everyone wished the great motherland prosperity and peace.
