Abu-Ghazaleh Hosts Chinese Hanban Confucius Delegation, Discusses Future Cooperation in Fields of Digital Education and Languages

The meetings focused on several key issues such as future cooperation between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University and Hanban in the fields of teaching Chinese language online, establishing TAG- Confucius branch in in other countries, in addition to other related issues

AMMAN --- September 20, 2012 --- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) held several key meetings with a delegation from Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters).1

The delegation was headed by Director General, Hanban, China; Chief Executive, Confucius Institute Headquarters Ms. Xu Lin.

The meetings focused on several key issues such as future cooperation between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University and Confucius Institute in the fields of teaching Chinese language online, establishing TAG-Confucius branch in other countries, in addition to other related issues.

 It was also decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in December 2012 between the two parties which will focus on cooperation in various domains.

The delegation had several busy days in Jordan with field visits to TAG- Confucius where they attended a graduation ceremony for students of Chinese language, Chinese Visa Center and others.
The delegation consisted of Director General, Hanban, China; Chief Executive, Confucius Institute Headquarters Ms. Xu Lin, Director of General Affairs, Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters Mr. Xia Jianhui, Director of Confucius Institute Affairs I, Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters Mr. Jiang Yandong, Program Officer of Confucius Institute Affairs I, Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters Ms. Li Ying, Vice president of Shenyang Normal University Mr. Li Tiejun in addition to Director of International Affairs Office, Shenyang Normal University Mr. Xu Zhiwei.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said during Ms. Xu Lin honoring ceremony which was also attended by members of the royal family, ministers, members of parliament and Senate: "We are really proud of our special relations with the Chinese government and establishments. We still have a lot of ideas that we can share in various fields especially in the e-education sector. We are looking forward to teaming up in new projects with China."
