The new YCT supervised by Hanban is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency. It assesses young foreign students' abilities to use Chinese in their daily and academic lives

AMMAN------May 31, 2012--------Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG- Confucius), the official testing center for China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) hosted the international Youth Chinese Test (YCT) for 20 students representing various language levels.

TAG- Confucius prepared several lectures prior to the test in order to make it easier for students to sit for the exam.1

Mustafa Al Husseini, TAG- Confucius executive director said:"This comes as part of TAG- Confucius plan and effort in spreading awareness about the Chinese language among youth. The YCT was made for youth to help them use the Chinese language in their daily routine."

The new YCT supervised by Hanban, the colloquial abbreviation for the Chinese National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency. It assesses young foreign students' abilities to use Chinese in their daily and academic lives.

The new YCT consists of a writing test and a speaking test, which are independent of each other. The writing test is divided into four levels, namely, the YCT (level I), YCT (level II), YCT (level III), and YCT (level IV). The speaking test is divided into the YCT (Beginner Level) and YCT (Intermediate Level).
