Talal Abu-Ghazaleh-Confucius Institute Celebrates Chinese New Year and Spring Festival
 
AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-CI), which has recently has marked its ten years of existence in Jordan, celebrated the Chinese New Year and Spring Festival at the Institute’s headquarters. 
The celebration was attended by a host of members of the Chinese community living in Jordan, TAGCI students and their parents, Jordanian citizens, and members of the Chinese Embassy in Jordan represented by the Cultural Attaché Mr. Yang Ronghao. 
 
New Year’s atmosphere was everywhere; red lanterns, red Chinese fans and red costumes. 
The Spring Festival Gala was held at the Institute’s premises and everyone was overwhelmed by the New Year’s spirits.
The event featured more than 10 activities that allowed attendees to learn more about the Chinese culture.  
The activities included Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting and opera mask painting, paper lantern and windmill making, a chopstick challenge with candy, a photo booth with Chinese costumes and traditional Chinese games and snacks for guests to try.
“It was a great opportunity to give people the chance to experience the Chinese culture by doing Chinese crafts, activities, games and calligraphy,” Mr. Mamoun Abu Al Sebaa’, Executive Director of TAG-Confucius, said. 
 
 
 
“Our mission is to promote Chinese culture and traditions by enabling people to get know this great country and nation,” Abu Al Sebaa’ added.
At the end of the ceremony, attendees enjoyed the preparation of the Chinese traditional dish (Dumpling) which is considered an essential component of the Chinese cuisine.
