TAG-Confucius and Chinese Embassy Hold the 4th Great Wall Language Competition

AMMAN-------May 29, 2012------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG- Confucius), the official testing center for China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) in cooperation with the Chinese Embassy held the 4th Great Wall of China Language semi final competition.

The event, held under the patronage of the Chinese Cultural Attaché Mr. Nie Guo`an and TAG-Confucius Executive Director Mr. Tareq Hamad and TAG-Confucius Dean Mr. Chengyu Zhang witnessed the participation of a large number of students and specialists.

Mr. Hamad said:" We are happy to be part of this important event which gives the students a rare opportunity to develop their Chinese language. The Chinese language has recently gained a lot of interest by students and we would like to see more entering the amazing world of Chinese language."

The contest consisted of an oral test to show their capabilities in pronunciation, reading in addition to conversation and a talent competition in front of a judging committee, consisted of teachers from TAG-Confucius, the Jordan University and the Jordanian Army Academy.

At the end of the competition TAG- Confucius officials presented winners with awards and gifts.

A total of 20 students took part in the competition with TAG- Confucius students taking the 1st and 2nd places.

About TAG- Confucius
