Representative of China’s Popular News Agency Visits TAG-Confucius 

AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) hosted Mr. Han Xiaoming, a journalist from the People’s Daily (the Middle East Regional Bureau) which is considered one of the most popular mainstream media outlets in China.

A presentation about the services and activities of TAG- Confucius was provided by Ms. Yang Songfang, Dean of the Institute. She summarized her own experience and experiences of the Chinese teachers’ working in Jordan in teaching the Chinese language to the Jordanian community. She also introduced Chinese language teaching and cultural activities of the Institute adding that TAG- Confucius facilitates eligible students’ application for the Confucius Institute Scholarships to study in China noting that it is the first officially accredited Chinese language center and the first official Chinese language proficiency test (HSK) center authorized by the Chinese Government.  

Mr. Mamoun Abu Sebaa, Director of TAG-Confucius, briefed the guest on the services provided by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) in general, and highlighted the strong relationship between China and TAG-Org as there are three offices for Organization in the main cities of China. He also added that TAG-Visa, one of TAG-Org companies, is the only provider for a Chinese visa in Jordan.

From his side, Mr. Han Xiaoming expressed his admiration and happiness with the visit to the TAG-Confucius Institute. He added that Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh is a well-known figure in China and wished success and improvement to the Institute. At the end of the visit, the guest toured the Institute and attended a Chinese class.

It is noteworthy to mention that the TAG -Confucius Institute was established in 2008 to promote the learning of the Chinese language and culture in Jordan, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between the Arab and Chinese cultures and this unique initiative is based on the cooperation agreement concluded and signed between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group and the Confucius Institute Headquarters in China.
