Organizing cultural activities is an effective way to expand the influence of Confucius Institutes and enhance other countries’ understanding of Chinese culture and the realities of modern China. Such activities shall concentrate on the finer aspects of Chinese culture, reflect a true contemporary China and deepen students’ understanding of Chinese culture. Cultural programs usually include:

▪ Celebration of the traditional festivals of China, such as the Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival;

▪ Cultural courses and activities focusing on topics such as calligraphy, painting, Taijiquan and Chinese songs;

▪ Lectures, symposia and exhibitions on Chinese culture, literary books, dramas and films;

▪ Chinese and foreign exchange programs focusing on Chinese language teaching and traditional Chinese culture.
