TAG-Confucius Institute Participates in 2026 Chinese New Year Reception Hosted by Chinese Embassy in Jordan
On February 10, TAG-Confucius Institute (TAG-CI) participated in the 2026 Chinese New Year (also known as the Spring Festival) Reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Jordan. Over 300 guests gathered to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Horse, including H.E. Mr. Guo Wei, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan, Mr. Zhao Xiaoqiang, Cultural Counselor of the embassy, other embassy officials, Dr. Yang Songfang, Chinese Director of TAG-CI, together with faculty members, Chinese language teachers working in Jordan, overseas Chinese students, representatives of Chinese enterprises, and members of the overseas Chinese community.
In his remarks, Ambassador Guo highlighted on the cultural significance of the Spring Festival as the most important traditional festival of the Chinese nation. He reviewed the steady progress of Chinese modernization over the past year and noted the fruitful achievements in China–Jordan cooperation in education, culture, economy, and trade. 
He encouraged all participants to continue contributing to the development of China–Jordan relations and reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to providing strong support and high-quality services for Chinese citizens and institutions in Jordan. He also extended his sincere New Year greetings to all.
The reception featured a rich and vibrant cultural program. Teachers from TAG-CI performed the song With You All My Life, whose warm melody and heartfelt emotion conveyed appreciation for shared moments and gratitude for companionship. The touching performance resonated strongly with the audience and added a touching highlight to the celebration. Other members of the Chinese community also presented performances, including singing, dancing, violin solo, traditional Chinese opera, and poetry recitation. A lucky draw further enlivened the festive atmosphere.

In an interview with China Media Group, Dr. Yang Songfang shared that after more than a decade of working overseas, she looks forward each year to watching the Spring Festival Gala, which always brings her a strong sense of home. She expressed her hope to see more of her favorite programs in the Year of the Horse edition.
The event concluded with guests enjoying traditional festive cuisine, renewing friendships, and exchanging best wishes for the future as they welcomes the New Year in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
