AMMAN-------October 3, 2013------Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute, the official testing center for China's HSK examinations (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, which is a popular harvest festival that has been celebrated by the Chinese for more than 3000 years with several cultural activities focused on Chinese civilization and culture.

The event attended by a large number of students, parents and those interested in Chinese language and civilization included a welcoming speech delivered by Mr. Tariq Hammad, Executive Director of TAG-Confucius Institute, who highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Arab and Chinese civilizations and also noted to the Institute's role in enriching the Chinese language through courses and special programs held by the Institute based on the direction of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.

Moreover, the TAG-Confucius Dean Cheng Yu Zhang expressed his thanks and admiration with respect to the leading role of the Institute in laying down future plans for the development of Chinese language courses. He also highlighted the importance of this occasion for the Chinese people and presented a detailed explanation about such occasion.

About TAG- Confucius Institute Talal Abu-Ghazaleh-Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures.

This is a one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute of China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius's thoughts have influenced the Chinese civilization and other civilizations in the world for nearly 2000 years.
