AMMAN - September10 is an official holiday in China. On this day the whole country honors educators and teachers. This holiday, in its different interpretations, has existed in China as early as the middle ages. Teachers and coaches have always been honored and respected in China.

For this important occasion, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius), organized a celebration observing the Chinese Teachers’ Day with the participation of the Institute’s management and faculty at TAG-Confucius headquarters.

Ms. Yang Songfang, Dean of TAG-Confucius Institute said that the 10th of September is an official holiday in China to celebrate Teachers’ Day citing the respect and appreciation given to teachers in China.

“This year witnesses the 35th Chinese Teachers’ Day in China which has become one of the most important festive dates on our calendar. On this day, the whole country expresses respect and appreciation to educators and teachers for the work they do every day,” she noted expressing her gratitude and appreciation to teachers of TAG-Confucius Institute.

“A teacher is a friend, philosopher, and guide who holds our hand, opens our mind, and touches our heart,” said Mr. Mamoun Abu Al Sebaa’, TAG-CI Foreign Director. “In many countries across the world, teacher's day is a special day and China has a long tradition of respecting teachers. There is an old Chinese saying, “Once my teacher, forever my father,” which illustrates tremendous respect for mentors.”
Mr. Abu Al Sebaa’ added,” At TAG-C, we do appreciate our Chinese teachers’ work and efforts. That is why we do celebrate the Teachers’ Day every year to thank our teachers who come to Jordan leaving their families back there in China to do a noble job and help our community to speak Chinese.”
