TAG-Confucius Institute participates in the 12th Global Confucius Institute Conference in Xi’an, China
Xi’an – China: Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute participated in the 12th Global Confucius Institute Conference which was held in in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province from 12 – 13 December, 2017.
Nearly 2,500 delegates, including university presidents from over 140 countries and regions, attended the conference with the theme, "Cooperation, innovation and building a community with a shared future for mankind." The conference focused on improving management of the institutes, as well as developing creativity in courses and cultural programs.
Centering on “The Development of Confucius Institute and the Establishment of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind”, a conference forum was set up for the first time, and a total of 15 forums were carried out among university presidents and Confucius Institute directors from China and abroad.
The Executive Director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute, Mr. Mamoun Abu Al-Sebaa’, delivered a speech on the Directors’ Forum about “Building Partnerships between Confucius Institutes, Business and Public Organizations”.
“We are proud at TAG-Confucius Institute to be the first private organization, represented by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, to have partnership with Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban and with Shenyang Normal University as its Chinese partner university” said Mr. Abu Al-Sebaa’. “TAG-Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote Chinese language and culture in Jordan and it’s the first official Chinese language center and the first Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) center in Jordan”.
He also pointed out that TAG-Confucius Institute becomes the destination for people and companies seeking to be engaged with the China business world and it builds bridges between Jordan and China through education, special events and cultural and business exchanges. TAG-CI promotes Hanban’s Scholarships program and facilitates the students, scholars and Chinese language teachers pursuing their studies in relevant universities in China. Besides, it organizes China-visit programs for students and educators and it conducts Chinese Business Courses for TAG-Org employees, Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Jordan Engineers Association, Ministry of Tourism, and for the local society.
TAG-CI organizes introductory sessions for China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in cooperation with Chinese Foreign Trade Center (CFTC) to give an introduction about the Fair’s three stages.
It’s worth mentioning that China - Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban presented HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, head of the TAG-Confucius Institute, with the Individual Performance Excellence Award at the opening ceremony of the 12th Confucius Institute Conference.
